The Polygon community has released Proposal PIP-93, which proposes to integrate the multisignature mechanisms managed by the Protocol Committee, Polygon PoS, and the AggLayer/zkEVM Security Committee into a unified Security Committee, adopting an 8/11 multisignature threshold across Ethereum and Polygon. The proposal is currently in the draft stage. The new committee will consist of 11 signatories from 10 organizations, with Polygon Labs holding two seats and the remaining organizations each holding one. The proposal intends to publish only the list of member organizations, and will no longer disclose the identities and addresses of individual signatories. Routine upgrades and administrative changes can be submitted by Polygon Labs-operated multisignatures with a 5/9 threshold and will be executed after a 7-day time lock. The Security Committee reserves the right to veto transactions, bypass the time lock to immediately execute changes, and reinstate suspended contracts during the time lock period. Polygon Labs-operated multisignatures can suspend contracts, but cannot bypass the time lock to execute upgrades or reinstate contracts.
