Paolo Ardoino: Tether's compliance with sanctions outperforms regulatory agencies, resulting in a 94% decrease in related trading volume
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that Tether has performed better than regulatory agencies in terms of sanctions compliance. Since 2023, Tether has frozen relevant addresses on average 4 weeks earlier than the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control and Israel's National Counter Terrorism Financing Agency officially recognized sanctions, and 99% of the time the freeze was completed before Chainalysis marked the relevant addresses. This move has led to a 94% decrease in stablecoin trading volume related to Iran.
