Among all the projects in the Solana Frontier hackathon, the most noteworthy is undoubtedly the marathon champion @crowdbrainai.

▌Co-founder @PrimeErwin is the founder of the GameFi project $DFL, established in 2021, which secured investments from leading institutions including NGC, Solana Ventures, and Jump.

▌Another co-founder had previously founded and successfully exited a computer vision company.

CrowdBrain is not just another new AI data labeling company.

What they aim to create is a globally distributed "robot remote operation + data collection + quality verification + human working network."

Currently, leading robotics companies and laboratories are hiring a large number of remote operators to collect training data or to take over and control already deployed robots in real environments.

For instance, Tesla pays remote operators for Optimus $48 per hour.

CrowdBrain's goal is to fully commercialize and streamline this process.

Their entire protocol is designed in a three-layer architecture:

Demand layer: Task market for robotics companies

Supply layer: A network of human operators that anyone can participate in

Protocol layer: An incentive, verification, and settlement system running on Solana

For ordinary participants, you can access the system from any device at home, complete simulated training, then prove your skill level through labeling tasks, ultimately unlocking permissions to remotely control robots in the real world and receive compensation.

Recently, a report from Solana regarding robot AI suggested that humanoid robots are very close to having their own ChatGPT moment, with data being the core bottleneck preventing the entire industry from landing on a large scale.

Thus, CrowdBrain’s entry point and narrative are undoubtedly excellent. However, it also carries a significant risk, which is the thickness of the demand side.

As of today, there are still very few real buyers willing to pay for third-party robot data, mostly concentrated among a handful of big players like DeepMind, Tesla, and Figure. Whether this open market will take shape and when it will do so remains an unknown.
