Just finished watching the Cybercab launch event! $TSLA
So low-key that it can't be any lower. In contrast, the launch events of various Chinese automotive manufacturers are luxurious, extravagant, and far ahead, but most end up slapping themselves in the face. Truly good products, the products themselves can speak!
Regarding this launch event, I have a few thoughts 🧐:
First, autonomous driving has really arrived. Here, 'autonomous driving' does not refer to the kind where traditional cars in the country are modified, with several laser radars installed on top, running around in the suburbs to scam subsidies. Instead, it refers to a completely newly designed self-driving car that is born for passenger experience. Not only does it need to have autonomous driving capabilities, but it also needs to provide the experience of an autonomous vehicle, which is crucial.
Second, the stocks of companies related to sensors and steer-by-wire chassis may rise significantly. The logic of selling shovels has always been the best choice for investing in emerging tracks. This includes laser radars, vision cameras, etc., which will benefit, such as Hesai $HSAI, the world's largest laser radar supplier, including the previously mentioned $OUST, a pioneer in the global 3D laser radar field. Many companies in this category overlap with the humanoid robot industry chain.
Another aspect is pure electric steer-by-wire brakes and steer-by-wire steering systems, which will become standard configurations for future autonomous vehicles, mainly from some domestic companies, such as Bertley, Zhejiang Shibao, Top Group, and Nexperia.
With the strong promotion of Cybercab, I believe Google's Waymo will probably also continue to make efforts. Its product capability is quite good, using the prototype of China's Zeekr MIX, which can seat a booth, play cards, and chat, compared to Cybercab's two-person seating, will bring differentiated competition!
Third, considerations regarding real estate. In the future, the prices of real estate in beautiful environments + suburbs will be restructured, such as Dapeng in Shenzhen Nanshan, Huizhou in overall Shenzhen, Nansha in Guangzhou, and Ma'an Island in Zhongshan, near Shenzhen, etc. This area is not too far from the city center, driving generally takes about 40 minutes. However, because it belongs to the suburbs, housing prices are generally lower, only 1/5 or 1/10 of the city center. For example, it takes 40 minutes to go from Ma'an Island through the Shenchong Tunnel to Qianhai, but the housing price is only 1/10 of that in Qianhai. In the future, with autonomous driving, you can lie in the car, sleep, work, or entertain, while opting for a city with a beautiful environment and more cost-effective housing prices, perhaps it will be a new choice!
Some of these opportunities can be discussed in the comments! I plan to go see houses in Ma'an Island this weekend! I heard it’s just over 10,000, is that true? 🧐
