Fake WalletConnect wallet app has been on the Google Play Store for 4 months, with over 10000 downloads

BlockBeats News: On September 28th, according to a Checkpoint Research report, a fake wallet app that had been on the Google Play Store for four months stole over $70000 worth of cryptocurrency in a phishing attack and may subsequently be reported and taken down. This malicious software impersonates WalletConnect and guides unsuspecting users to other websites, deceiving them into authorizing transactions and obtaining access to funds. The counterfeit application has been downloaded a total of 10000 times, with 150 people falling for it.
