After studying this week's CPI and PPI inflation data, many analysts predict that the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation indicator, the PCE Price Index, will show a 2.8% year-on-year increase in core prices in October, excluding volatile food and energy categories. This will be another acceleration in growth since September and means that the annualized core PCE has returned to the level of May. However, this pain may be temporary.
