According to a report by Golden Ten, US President elect Trump announced on Thursday that the government efficiency group led by Musk will release a report on its efforts to streamline the US government. In a speech at Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump said, "They will come up with a separate report, and eventually there will be a big report." This is the first time Trump has provided new details about the panel's report since announcing it earlier this week. Trump stated on Tuesday that the group will provide advice and guidance from outside the government to streamline the government, cut regulation, reduce spending, and restructure federal agencies. Both Trump and Musk have stated that the group will significantly reduce its budget. However, the US Constitution grants Congress the power over the federal budget. Congress can accept or ignore the recommendations of external groups, such as the proposed efficiency group.
