Japan's Suminobu SBI Internet Bank offers securities tokens to its customers

Odaily Planet Daily News: This week, Japan's Hisense SBI Network Bank (NEObank) began offering securities tokens to its 7.7 million banking customers. This is part of a collaboration with Mitsui&Co. Digital Asset Management, which launched Alterna, a direct to consumer securities token service last year. Alterna was launched in mid-2023 and quickly partnered with another online bank, Sony Bank. Subsequently, it partnered with department store operator J Front Retailing, which offers JFR membership cards. As part of the collaboration, JFR cardholders can invest in Alterna in batches.
