Odaily Planet Daily News: According to a recent report by MV Global, DeSci is expected to achieve significant growth by 2025, driven by the practical use of Meme coins.
DeSci involves integrating blockchain technology into scientific research, with the goal of fundamentally changing traditional scientific ecosystems through increased transparency, decentralization, and collaboration. The report emphasizes that although such concepts are not new, the focus and scope of these measures have changed. Initially, most projects focused on research funding through DAO.
Examples worth noting include VitaDAO, HairDAO, and AxonDAO, which are still influential participants in the DeSci field. However, since then, the industry has undergone significant changes and shown a trend towards diversification. The report focuses on about 30 active projects with various use cases, including research funding, health data management, and open source research initiatives. The report points out that this diversity reflects the increasing maturity and adaptability of the DeSci ecosystem.
The report points out that the Rifampicin and Urolithin A projects have received significant attention, achieving market values of approximately $73 million and $59 million, respectively. These tokens are traded through Pump The Science platform has launched, and according to MV Global's evaluation, they have more practicality than traditional Meme coins. MV Global expects Pump Science will achieve large-scale expansion by 2025, with at least 10 projects expected to have a market value exceeding $100 million by the end of the year.
MV Global also predicts significant growth in health data management and collaborative open source research by 2025. For example, Hippocrat, which empowers individuals with the ability to control their health data, and ResearchCoin, which aims to build a "scientific research GitHub," are both seen as promising projects. It is expected that by 2025, the market valuation of both projects will reach at least $200 million.
