The judge approves Ripple and SEC to seal specific court documents, including evidence related to summary judgments and expert testimony
On January 13th, according to Coin Edition, US Senior District Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton approved Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and SEC's request to seal specific court documents. As the case progresses, both parties can now keep sensitive information confidential. The sealed documents include key evidence related to the summary judgment and expert testimony, which are crucial to the case. The court made a judgment based on the "convincing reasons" rule of the Ninth Circuit Court. Ripple seeks to seal 8 pieces of evidence related to the summary judgment and 56 pieces of evidence opposing the SEC's motion. At the same time, the SEC has requested the sealing of some of its evidence, including expert testimony.
