Odaily Planet Daily News: South Korea's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has issued a VASP license to Happy Block, a second cryptocurrency brokerage company, indicating that it may eventually be preparing to allow the company to purchase Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency assets. At the end of December last year, FIU issued a VASP license to another brokerage firm, Waybridge. FIU operates with the support of the Financial Services Commission (FSC), the highest regulatory body in South Korea. This department is the only institution in South Korea authorized to issue virtual asset service provider (VASP) licenses to companies. Until the past few weeks, only a few cryptocurrency exchanges have successfully obtained VASP licenses. (Korea Economic Daily)
