Indonesia's cryptocurrency trading volume surged 104% in January, reaching $2.68 billion

Odaily Planet Daily News: In January 2025, the cryptocurrency trading volume in Indonesia surged to 44.07 trillion Indonesian rupiah (approximately 2.68 billion US dollars), an increase of 104.31% compared to 21.57 trillion Indonesian rupiah (approximately 1.31 billion US dollars) in January 2024. This growth trend is consistent with the transaction volume for the entire year of last year, reaching IDR 650.6 trillion (approximately USD 39.56 billion) in 2024, with IDR 94 trillion (approximately USD 5.72 billion) in December. Hasan Fawzi of the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) announced this data at the monthly committee meeting in February 2025. As of February 2025, there are a total of 1396 cryptocurrency assets available for trading in the Indonesian market.
