South Australia Police launched the third phase of 'Operation Ironside' during the first weekend of November, arresting 55 suspects and adding approximately 800 new charges related to drugs, weapons, and conspiracy. The operation was based on information intercepted from the encrypted communication app AN0M, which was controlled by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The High Court had previously ruled that the related evidence was admissible. To date, the total amount of crypto assets seized in the case is approximately $37.9 million. Police stated that the suspects used cryptocurrency for money laundering activities, with the associated technical methods becoming increasingly sophisticated.
