[Vanguard Group Executive Compares Bitcoin to 'Digital Labubu,' Claims Bitcoin Lacks Long-Term Value]
John Ameriks, Global Head of Quantitative Equity at Vanguard Group, compared Bitcoin to a 'Digital Labubu,' pointing out that Bitcoin lacks the cash flow and compounding characteristics required for long-term investment. Ameriks believes there is no evidence yet that blockchain can generate lasting economic value. Vanguard Group, which manages approximately $12 trillion in assets, now allows clients to buy and sell funds holding Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana. Ameriks stated that the permission to trade is based on the established track record of spot Bitcoin ETFs, allowing clients to trade independently, though Vanguard Group does not provide advice. Ameriks added that Bitcoin's history is too short to currently support a clear investment rationale.
