Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic stated that there is currently no evidence that North Korean hackers used AI to transfer the $6.4 billion stolen from Binance; the operations are more consistent with traditional scripted patterns. Tom Robinson, co-founder and chief scientist of Elliptic, pointed out that the hackers' actions of transferring funds through automated software services conform to a pre-set script execution pattern, rather than autonomous decision-making by an AI agent. Currently, the hackers still control approximately $3.28 billion of the stolen funds, while approximately $2.85 billion in assets have been frozen or recovered. The FBI has confirmed that the theft was carried out by the North Korean hacking group TraderTraitor.
