SEC Chairman: SEC has never claimed that Bitcoin and Ethereum are securities

On January 15th, according to The Block, Gary Gensler, the outgoing chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), told Yahoo Finance on Tuesday that the SEC "never said" that Bitcoin and Ethereum are securities, and neither he nor the previous chairman of the SEC, Jay Clayton, ever said that Bitcoin is a security.
