[Solana Proposal SIMD-0266 Introduces p-token, Boosting Transaction Efficiency to 98%]
The Solana Foundation has released its latest proposal, SIMD-0266, which plans to introduce p-token as a high-efficiency alternative to the existing SPLToken program. Utilizing zero heap allocation and zero-copy data access technology, p-token can significantly reduce the computational unit usage of the Token program by up to 98% and free approximately 12% of block space to support more transaction processing. This solution is fully backward-compatible, allowing users to directly replace and use it without modifying their code. Additionally, the newly added Batch and UnwrapLamports instructions further optimize common DeFi operation processes. Security auditing firm Neodyme has confirmed that p-token outputs are consistent with the existing SPLToken program. This proposal will be advanced in coordination with other network optimization measures, aiming to enhance the overall performance and transaction throughput of the Solana network.
