[Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission Promotes Global Connectivity Plan for Digital Asset Market] Wong Lok-yan, Director of the Intermediaries Division and Head of the Fintech Unit at the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), stated that Hong Kong has incorporated 'global liquidity connectivity' into its digital asset development strategy. The aim is to help Hong Kong investors access global markets and attract more institutional-level trading activities to the region. As a primary initiative, the SFC will allow licensed cross-border trading platforms to share global order books with their overseas affiliates. Additionally, the Hong Kong SFC is enhancing the ecosystem through two consultations: issuing licenses for virtual asset custodians and exploring the inclusion of investment advisory services and specific asset classes under regulatory oversight to further drive industry growth.
