Tether and Lugano City will invest 5 million Swiss francs to advance Plan ₿ Phase II project

--

Tether and the Lugano City Government in Switzerland have announced a joint investment of 5 million Swiss francs to advance the second phase of Plan ₿, with the goal of building Lugano into a global digital infrastructure hub. In the previous four years, the two sides collaborated to promote over 400 local merchants to accept BTC and USDT payments, and integrated blockchain technology into public financial infrastructure. In the future, Tether will provide infrastructure support from 2026 to 2030, including building digital asset management systems, developing digital identity systems, promoting artificial intelligence ecosystems and autonomous digital agents, and implementing distributed urban digital infrastructure to support the new generation of DeFi activities.
