[Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Confident Clarity Act Will Pass This Summer, Urges Banks to Accept Stablecoin Compromise] Foresight News reports, according to The Block, Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal stated that he is 'very confident' the Clarity Act will pass before the end of summer and urged banking trade associations to accept the agreement. Grewal dismissed the core objections raised by banks against the agreement, pointing out their lack of basis, and warned that refusing to compromise would expose them to an unfavorable legal environment under the GENIUS Act. In an interview, he expressed support for the stablecoin rewards compromise proposed by Senators Thom Tillis and Angela Alsobrooks, stating that the updated bill retains features critical to Coinbase's stablecoin business. Under the agreement, activity-based rewards tied to actual platform usage will be preserved, while idle balance-based rewards, which are a concern for banks, will be restricted.
