XAI has laid off about 10 employees, and cursor staff have communicated internally
A few weeks after Elon Musk's company obtained an option to acquire code startup Cursor for $60 billion, Cursor employees have visited the xAI office to discuss work matters with internal staff. According to insiders, xAI laid off about 10 employees last Friday, involving the Grok large model development team. Last autumn, the xAI research team had a size of about 200 people, but the total number of employees is currently unknown. Recent resignations include Devindra Chaplet, a founding member of Mistral AI who left after only about a month of joining xAI. Employees in the xAI data center business have also been laid off in recent weeks.
