15 suspended virtual asset service providers in South Korea freeze KRW 22.1 billion
According to Yonhap News Agency, data obtained by Kang Min guk, a member of the National Power Party, from the Financial Supervisory Agency shows that as of May 4th, 15 virtual asset service providers in South Korea have frozen user assets worth 22.1 billion Korean won (approximately 14.87 million US dollars), involving approximately 1.949 million users. Among them, only 6 operators have transferred their assets to the Digital Asset Protection Foundation, involving 1.92 million users and assets of 2.36 billion Korean won (approximately 1.59 million US dollars). Only 131 users retrieved their assets through the foundation, with a return amount of 74.52 million Korean won (approximately 50000 US dollars) and a return rate of only 0.3%.
