Polish parliament deliberates on four cryptocurrency regulatory bills

Polish House Speaker W ł odzimierz Czarzasty announced that the parliament has begun reviewing four cryptocurrency regulation bills, involving proposals from the government, presidential office, Poland 2050 party, and Confederation party. The second reading vote is expected to take place on Thursday. The core disagreements include the scope of account freezing authority and the upper limit of fines for the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority (KNF). The presidential draft sets a maximum fine of 20 million zlotys (approximately 5.5 million US dollars), while the Ministry of Finance version raises it to 25 million zlotys (approximately 6.9 million US dollars). The opposition party PiS has submitted a bill to comprehensively ban cryptocurrency activities, which will be dealt with after the main bill is reviewed. Czarzasty also questioned the connection between funds in the cryptocurrency industry and political activities.
