Gazprom requests 17 subsidiaries to open digital ruble accounts

Russian state-owned oil company Gazprom has requested its 17 subsidiaries to open digital ruble accounts with the Russian central bank to comply with regulations that will come into effect on September 1st. According to regulations, legal entities are required to accept digital rubles as a payment method. The Russian digital ruble will be tested from August 2023, and by the end of 2025, over 130 corporate accounts have participated in the testing.
