According to Bloomberg, Christopher Giancarlo, former chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), will join Jefferies Financial Group in July as a senior advisor specializing in investment banking. Giancarlo has promoted the launch of the first batch of Bitcoin futures contracts on CBOE and CME, and supported loose cryptocurrency regulatory policies. Jefferies has completed approximately 14 digital asset transactions with a total value of approximately $9 billion, and has completed approximately $141 billion in market structure and technology transactions since 2011. Currently, there are approximately 15 employees dedicated to the cryptocurrency business.
