US and Iran discuss opening the Strait of Hormuz and extending the ceasefire agreement

--

According to Middle Eastern diplomatic sources cited by Nikkei News, the United States and Iran are discussing a plan to open the Strait of Hormuz approximately 30 days after reaching an agreement to end hostilities, with Iran clearing mines and allowing ships from all countries to navigate freely without tolls. The ceasefire agreement reached in early April will be extended for 60 days, during which both sides plan to negotiate on Iran's nuclear program. According to Arab TV, the draft agreement requires the resumption of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the removal of mines within 30 days.
