Netanyahu's approval rating drops sharply in the north due to ceasefire agreement

--

According to a Reuters poll, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's approval rating in the northern region has dropped to 23% due to the Israel Lebanon ceasefire agreement, down from 35% in the 2022 election. The loss of votes in the north is about three times the national average, and 70% of respondents do not approve of the government's handling of the Lebanon conflict. Opposition candidate Gadi Eisenkot frequently travels to the border to build momentum and advocates continuing to strike Hezbollah targets. Netanyahu stated that the Israeli military will continue to carry out military operations in southern Lebanon in the short term. Analysts say that the reversal of public opinion in the north is putting pressure on its governing coalition.
