The US Department of Justice has announced that Saif Faiq has pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges in a Bitcoin related kidnapping and extortion case, facing a maximum of 20 years in prison with a sentencing date of August 28th. In 2024, Faiq and his brother Adam Iza planned to kidnap the parents of cryptocurrency millionaire Veer Chetal, Sushil and Radhika Chetal, and recruited six Florida men to carry out an operation in Connecticut, during which they kidnapped the Lamborghini Urus and briefly detained the victims. Veer Chetal has pleaded guilty to stealing approximately 4100 bitcoins. Faiq and his brothers admitted to conspiring to disrupt commercial activities through robbery.
