South Korean police investigate Bithumb CEO Lee Jae won's alleged bribery case

According to The Block, the Public Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Department in South Korea has listed Bithumb CEO Lee Jae won as a suspect in a bribery case involving Congressman Kim Byung kee. The police obtained a statement from a former assistant that Kim Byung kee requested Lee Jae won to arrange for his second son to join Bithumb in November 2024, and his son subsequently worked for about six months; Kim Byung kee also requested Bithumb to hire one of his assistants, who will be working at Bithumb from September 2025.
