[Klarna Applies for U.S. Banking License, Plans to Establish Bank Subsidiary]
According to CNBC, Klarna has submitted applications to federal and state regulators in the United States, planning to establish an FDIC-insured banking subsidiary, Klarna Bank USA, in Utah to conduct lending, deposit, and financial services. Late last year, Klarna launched the stablecoin KlarnaUSD and collaborated with Stripe's platform Privy to develop a crypto wallet aimed at mainstream users.
