[EU MiCA Transition Period Ends on July 1, 2026, About 75% of Crypto Platforms Face Shutdown] According to CryptoSlate, the EU MiCA regulation transition period will end on July 1, 2026. As of May 2026, only 194 crypto companies in the EU have obtained licenses, while over 3,000 crypto enterprises were registered in 2024. Approximately 75% of older platforms are expected to lose their operating qualifications after the grace period ends. Unlicensed platforms must shut down, transfer users, or exit the European market before the deadline. The French regulator AMF has warned that operating without a license could result in up to 2 years of imprisonment and a €30,000 fine. If platforms fail to obtain a MiCA license, users may face restrictions on deposits or be required to withdraw their funds.
