Kalshi perpetual contract trading volume exceeds $5.5 billion, plans to expand to asset classes outside of digital assets

According to Bloomberg, the trading volume of the Kalshi perpetual contract has exceeded $5.5 billion in just two weeks of its launch. The company is in discussions with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to add more contracts and expand its business beyond digital assets. Currently, Kalshi offers 11 perpetual contracts for encrypted tokens, and the World Cup and NBA Finals have driven Kalshi's daily trading volume to over $1 billion for three consecutive days.
