Judge rejects Michelle Bond's application to withdraw charges, case will continue to move forward

--

According to Cointelegraph, Michelle Bond, the wife of former FTX executive Ryan Salame, is facing criminal charges for allegedly using FTX funds to fund her 2022 congressional campaign. Manhattan federal judge George Daniels has rejected Michelle Bond's application to withdraw the charges. The judge ruled that there were no prosecution promises in the plea agreement, and the prosecution accused Michelle Bond of obtaining $400000 from FTX through a consulting agreement and receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds from Ryan Salame for illegal campaign funding, while concealing the source of the funds and making false statements to the Federal Election Commission. Michelle Bond faces four charges, each of which can result in a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
