The Cyberspace Administration of China publicly solicits opinions on promoting distributed digital identity interoperability and mutual recognition application regulations
The State Internet Information Office issued a notice on the public consultation of the Regulations on Promoting the Application of Distributed Digital Identity Interoperability and Mutual Recognition (Draft for Comments), which aims to promote the innovative development of distributed digital identity and the application of mutual recognition, support the construction of national blockchain network basic common service capacity, and promote cross platform mutual recognition of digital identity in various fields of national economic and social development. The regulation states that distributed digital identity refers to a new type of digital identity based on distributed technologies such as blockchain, which supports users to independently manage their identity information. It consists of identifiers, keys, verifiable credentials, and verifiable statements, and can be used for digital account management, login authentication, data authorization, and other scenarios to solve the problem of cross regional, cross industry, and cross platform identity interoperability and mutual recognition. The deadline for feedback is July 18, 2026.
