Polymarket accused of paying creators to shoot fake betting videos involving fictitious transaction amounts

--

According to Decrypt, Polymarket has been accused of paying dozens of creators to shoot betting videos on simulated pages, displaying false profits. The review found that about 70% of the 1105 videos contained betting content, and the $1.9 million bets involved were not real transactions. College student George Makihara showed in a video that he won $100000 by betting on President Trump saying "McDonald's" that month, but the footage was accused of being filmed early and President Trump did not say the word that month, resulting in losses on over 50 real accounts on Polymarket. The creator displayed nearly $900000 in fictitious profits on the test page, while the actual result should have resulted in a loss of over $166000. Creators receive a monthly compensation of $2000 to $3000 and do not disclose their collaborations. Polymarket is committed to maintaining market accuracy, fairness, and transparency, and plans to conduct a comprehensive audit of its promotional content.
