Japan plans to invest 370 trillion yen (2.3 trillion US dollars) in the fields of artificial intelligence, semiconductors, defense, space, and shipbuilding over a 14 year period ending in March 2041. Among them, the expenditure in the fields of artificial intelligence and chips is 101.6 trillion yen. The plan predicts that by fiscal year 2040, semiconductor investment will bring an economic driving effect of 443 trillion yen, while investments in physical artificial intelligence and vertical artificial intelligence will generate economic spillover effects of 144 trillion yen and 222 trillion yen, respectively.
