According to the analysis of the Federal Election Commission data by The Washington Post, donors have invested over $1.3 billion in this election cycle. In the first half of 2026, Republican leaning donors donated $880 million, Democratic leaning donors donated $290 million, and bipartisan and special interest groups donated $200 million. Elon Musk ranks first among individual donors, donating $85.1 million to Republican organizations or individuals.
