The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) released on June 30th that the global economic and trade friction index for April 2026 is 106. The amount of measures involved decreased by 28.7% year-on-year and increased by 5.0% month on month. Among the 20 monitored countries/regions, the United States, India, and the European Union rank in the top three. The United States has increased its unilateral tools to cover imported products such as steel and aluminum under Section 232 tariffs and issued a Special 301 report, with the US taking the lead in the amount of measures.
