According to Cointelegraph, the Massachusetts Attorney General has been approved by the court to revise the lawsuit against prediction market platform Kalshi, accusing Kalshi of targeting users under the age of 21 through social media and university campus marketing, and failing to take effective measures to prevent their use of the platform. Kalshi allows individuals over the age of 18 to create accounts and place bets on sports events. The case began in September 2025, when state authorities accused Kalshi of violating state law by providing sports betting. The CFTC submitted a statement in Massachusetts advocating for exclusive jurisdiction over the forecasting market, with Chairman Michael Selig stating that Congress has delegated the sole authority to regulate the commodity derivatives market to the CFTC. Kalshi has not yet responded to our request for comment.
