[Samsung's 4nm Capacity Nearly Sold Out, Some 8nm Capacity Running at Full Load, Selective Order Acceptance Begins] According to a report by ChosunBiz on July 3, industry insiders revealed that Samsung Electronics' foundry division has recently adjusted its supply strategy, prioritizing orders from existing customers and selectively accepting orders from new clients. Industry analysts pointed out that the explosive growth of the artificial intelligence market is fundamentally reshaping the demand structure for semiconductor foundries. Previously, advanced manufacturing processes were primarily focused on smartphone application processors (AP), but recently, the demand has shifted toward AI accelerator chips, application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) chips, and high-performance computing (HPC) chips. Samsung's 4nm process capacity is nearly sold out, with even next year's capacity already booked, and some 8nm process capacity is also running at nearly full load.
