[Zcash Ironwood Upgrade Nears Testnet Activation, Aiming to Address Supply Integrity Concerns] According to Decrypt, Zcash developers stated that the Ironwood upgrade is approaching testnet activation. This upgrade introduces a new accounting system to verify the network's circulating supply while maintaining transaction privacy, aiming to resolve supply integrity concerns triggered by the Orchard vulnerability in May. The disclosure of this vulnerability previously caused the price of ZEC to drop from over $600 to around $300 within two days, though it has since rebounded to $457. Shielded Labs noted that migrating exchanges, wallets, and mining pools to the new Z3 software stack poses deployment challenges. The team aims to complete the Ironwood upgrade and ecosystem migration by the end of July.
