U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth plans to visit Israel to discuss F-35 sales to Türkiye

--

According to CNN, US Defense Secretary Hegseth plans to visit Israel for the first time after taking office on Wednesday. It is currently unclear whether the recent US strikes against Iran will affect this trip. Hegseth is expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz to discuss Israel's concerns about the sale of F-35 stealth fighter to Türkiye by the United States. The proposal was proposed by President Trump at the NATO Summit. Israel is currently the only F-35 operator in the Middle East region.
