According to Bitcoin.com News, Coinbase has been granted investment service authorization in the UK to provide cryptocurrency, stock, and derivative services on the same platform and login system. This authorization is issued by the UK Financial Conduct Authority under the MiFID framework, allowing Coinbase to provide investment services and trade financial instruments such as stocks and derivatives. Advanced traders on Coinbase will have access to perpetual futures related to cryptocurrencies, stocks, and commodities, retail investors will be able to trade stocks, stablecoin payments, savings, lending, cryptocurrencies, derivatives, and stocks will also be offered on Coinbase, and tokenization of real-world assets is planned. Coinbase also holds a UK electronic currency institution license and a registration as a cryptocurrency service provider.
