UK Labour MPs plan to push for a permanent ban on cryptocurrency political donations and tighten regulation of campaign funds
According to The Guardian, UK Labour MPs plan to propose four amendments to the Representation of the People Act, including a permanent ban on cryptocurrency donations, lowering the campaign spending cap from £ 34 million to £ 24.4 million, limiting the initial funding size of newly formed political parties, and conducting national security risk assessments on donations. These amendments were promoted by anti-corruption cross party organizations and received widespread support after the funding dispute of Nigel Farage's Reform Party.
