Visa releases AI proxy payment report, x402 processes $15 million transaction

Visa releases joint research report with Artemis to analyze the development of AI proxy payments. AI proxy payments are divided into large commercial payments representing users and small payments between machines that are less than $1. Since its launch in May 2025, x402 has processed approximately $15 million in trading volume and accumulated approximately 109.6 million transactions, mainly concentrated in the Base, Solana, and Polygon networks. After its launch in March 2026, the Machine Payments Protocol completed approximately $25000 in settlements and processed around 115000 transactions.
