US President Trump promotes the establishment of global digital trade rules, covering data flow and source code protection

According to WSJ, the Trump administration is establishing a global digital trade rules system that covers cross-border data flows, cloud computing, software, and artificial intelligence by signing agreements with trading partners. At present, 146 digital trade barriers are implemented in 43 jurisdictions worldwide. The recent agreements reached by the United States with Indonesia, Cambodia, and Malaysia include clauses prohibiting forced technology transfer, ensuring the free flow of cross-border data, prohibiting governments from requiring companies to submit source code, and maintaining electronic transmission duty-free.
