The United States accuses the dark side of the moon of distilling Anthropic models and considers sanctions

White House technology policy chief Michael Kratsios accuses Darkside of training Kimi K3 through distillation of Anthropic's Fable, while US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says sanctions and inclusion on entity lists are under consideration. Michael Kratsios claimed that the Dark Side of the Moon built an internal platform to evade detection and used Nvidia GB300 servers, but did not disclose any evidence. Anthropic has accused the Dark Side of the Moon of interacting with Claude over 3.4 million times through hundreds of fake accounts. The dark side of the moon did not respond to the accusations, and the Chinese Embassy in the United States stated that the claims were completely unfounded. A unified plan has not yet been formed within the US government.
