BNB Chain releases technology roadmap for the second half of 2026, planning the next generation L1 architecture
BNB Chain has released its technology roadmap for the second half of 2026, with the core goal of improving main network throughput, optimizing resource isolation, and gas fee structure. In the first half of 2026, the BSC block interval will be reduced to 450 milliseconds, the memory termination time will be reduced to 650 milliseconds, the benchmark throughput will be increased from 2800 TPS to 5200 TPS (approximately 400 MGas/s), and the BSC Rust client will be compatible with Reth v2.0. BNB Chain is developing the next generation L1 architecture, with goals including over 100000 TPS, pre confirmation of transactions in less than 50 milliseconds, and native privacy transaction functionality at the protocol layer. The plan is to launch the test network by the end of 2026 and the main network in early 2027.
