EU expands restrictions on cryptocurrency assets in Belarus, to be implemented from August 25th

The EU prohibits Belarusian citizens and residents from owning, controlling, or managing encrypted service providers regulated by MiCA. According to Council Decision (CFSP) 2026/1847 passed by the European Council on July 24th, restrictions on the cryptocurrency industry will be implemented from August 25th. The affected service scope includes encrypted trading platforms, asset exchange, order execution and transmission, asset issuance, asset transfer, investment consulting, and portfolio management.
