According to Reuters, two Japanese government officials stated that Japanese Finance Minister Takayuki Katayama will announce on Monday that Tokyo and Washington have taken joint action to prevent the depreciation of the yen. According to sources, Japanese and US authorities have conducted multiple rounds of yen buying operations in the market, marking the first such joint intervention since 2011, aimed at boosting the yen's recovery from its lowest level against the US dollar since 1986, and the action is still ongoing.
